UPDATE
SWEETUMS, the last of our #NWASMuppetPups moved into a wonderful foster home after her last sibling was adopted. She is now 5 months old and a very well rounded canine citizen. She is a stunning Pitbull mix and is on track to be approximately 45lbs when mature.
Sweetums is a loving, friendly pup who is learning lots with her foster family. It took a couple days of settling in, but now she feels super comfortable and relaxed.
She respects and has never tried to chase the cat….in fact, she is a little cautious of her movements around him and knows who’s boss. She loves having a big dog brother to play with and learn some manners from.
Although he is larger, they play really well together and he helps her burn off some wild puppy energy. Being a teething puppy, she likes to chew things…so best to have lots available for her to chew on so she doesn’t chew your stuff. She is working on basic commands and learning well…she can sit, lay down, often come when called and is working on stay.
She’s also working on keeping 4 paws on the ground and not jumping on people and she has made big improvements with this. She sleeps through the night and has no accidents in the house.
When full grown, she seems like she would be up for all kinds of outdoor adventures. For now, she appreciates her morning and afternoon outings to walk and have a run around to get her puppy crazies out before napping in the house. She’s fortunate right now to have a large fenced area where she can be off leash and play and run hard.
She is reluctant to get in the car but is quiet and calm(and a little nervous) once in. This hesitation of getting in the car is improving after just a few trips. She now doesn’t try to jump out as soon as you load her up…in fact, last trip, she even put her paws on the back of the car and when we helped her in, she sat and stayed.
She has had a couple trips to town for some exposure to all the excitement.
She is happy to see new people as well as all of the new dogs she’s seen so far.

FOR ADOPTION: SWEETUMS is the last of our #MuppetPups left looking for her forever family. This adorable little lady is 4 months old and expected to mature around 55lbs. Her mother is in our care and is a super fun Pitbull mix, her father is completely unknown. Sweetums is a higher energy young dog that is looking for a fun and active forever family. If you’re into fun adventures like hiking, skiing, biking, running etc Sweetums would be thrilled to join you. She’s also a smart little lady that enjoys learning and will be an engaging training partner. This girl could learn to really enjoy dog sports. When she’s not exercising her mind or body Sweetums is going to want to be cuddled up with you for some chill time. Sweetums is highly people oriented, she absolutely loves everyone she meets and wants nothing more than to be able to bond deeply with her family and their friends. Sweetums is working hard on learning manners like not jumping up, once she’s mastered that she will be excellent in a home with children. Sweetums is just learning about walking on leash and has started expanding her group of canine friends now that her siblings are gone. She’s friendly and respectful with new dogs. Sweetums has had limited exposure to cats while in our care but do think she’s at a great age to move in with cats and learn to cohabitate respectfully. Sweetums has kennel training almost completely mastered and is mostly clean between our shelter shifts. The overnight stretch can sometimes be too long for her though. She’s a puppy that loves to play with everything she can but has not been overly destructive with her toys yet.
