Karoo

UPDATE: KAROO is a regal 1.5 year old male that has been in our care for 9 months. He comes from a colony type living situation which left him fearful and under-socialized when he came into our care. Thanks to the dedicated and loving care of our wonderful staff and volunteers Karoo has blossomed into a friendly and affectionate young cat. He still hates the idea of being picked up but otherwise loves pets, gives head boops of gratitude when fed and can always be found close by supervising the cat room chores. Karoo may not love as loudly as some of the other cats in our care but he loves deeply and once he trusts you, he’s yours for life. Karoo is excellent with other cats. He’s not overly playful but he enjoys their companionship and has always been friendly and non dominant. Karoo has had limited exposure to dogs in his lifetime but he is open to sharing a home with a calm and respectful dog. Loud and rowdy children are overwhelming for Karoo but he does well with calm and gentle kids. He was indoor/outdoor prior to coming to NWAS and has adjusted well to indoor only life with us. He could happily continue with either lifestyle once he is comfortable in his new home. He is neutered, vaccinated and up to date on parasite control.
