​WYNN is a handsome, 95 lb adult male Shepherd mix looking for a forever family who treasures togetherness as much as he does.
​Wynn was found scrounging for food near a grocery store in the Burns Lake area. His finders searched for his home for over a month before contacting us to take him in. Because he arrived as a stray, we do not know his full history. He is estimated to be between 3 and 6 years old. While he currently weighs 95 lbs, he could stand to gain a little bit more weight.
​Wynn has a deep bark that will certainly deter unwanted visitors, but deep down he is truly the sweetest boy. He wants all the cuddles and gives the best kisses and snuggles! Being a big fella, he is still working on not jumping up when he gets excited (a firm, consistent approach helps him remember his manners). Jumping aside, Wynn is excellent with children and would love to shower little ones with affection; however, until he learns to keep four paws on the floor, he would be best suited for a home with preteens and older.
​Wynn gets along very well with other medium to extra-large dogs and would love a canine companion to romp around with. Unfortunately, he does have a high chase drive. He will chase livestock such as sheep and horses, and shelter testing showed he will also chase cats if they run. Because of this, we are looking for a home free of small animals and livestock, along with an owner committed to keeping him leashed while out adventuring.
​Wynn is looking for a medium-energy family. He will gladly go hiking, cross-country skiing, or spend the day on the land mushroom picking and fishing, but he isn't built for high-impact activities like prolonged jogging or cycling.
​Indoors, Wynn has been clean and very well-mannered. He pulls quite hard while walking on a flat collar or harness, but he does well using a head Halti or prong collar (assuming his handler is trained in using this equipment). He also loves vehicle rides and would make a wonderful road trip partner or daily commute companion!
​Wynn is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on parasite control.
