Benji

BENJI is an approximately 12-year-old male looking for a peaceful home to live out his golden years. This sweet fella showed up on a rural property over the winter. The property owners put in the hard work to earn his trust, catch him, and bring him to the safety of the shelter.
Benji was already neutered when he arrived and was clearly a loved pet at some point in his life. We don't know for sure whether he was abandoned or if he wandered away from home (though it would have been quite a far distance) and his family missed our "found cat" postings. What we know for certain is that Benji is now safe, warm, and well-fed, and he will remain so for the rest of his life.
Benji is a gentle, sweet boy who loves head rubs and full-body pets. His dome-style hidey bed is his safe space—he is often sleeping inside when staff arrive, but he happily pops his head out for affection when he recognizes trusted friends.
Because Benji is easily frightened by loud noises and busy environments, we are seeking an adult-only household where he can enjoy the peace and quiet he craves.
Cats: Benji gets along well with friendly, respectful cats. While large groups overwhelm him, he would happily share a home with one or two calm feline companions.
Dogs: He has been completely non-reactive toward dogs. If placed in a home with a dog, it must be a relaxed pup that leaves cats alone.
During his initial intake exam, bloodwork revealed early-stage kidney disease (common in senior cats). He also has a few skin tags to watch out for while brushing. His adopters must be committed to providing a kidney-friendly diet and scheduling regular vet checkups to monitor his health and keep him comfortable as the condition progresses.
We are seeking an indoor-only home where Benji can feel completely secure and confident. He is neutered, vaccinated, and up to date on parasite control.
