FOR ADOPTION: SOPHIE is a gentle, loving 11 year old lady looking for a special forever family. Sophie came into the care of NWAS emaciated and full of bite wounds. She healed from her wounds quickly and is steadily gaining weight. She is a large breed dog that should be around 65lbs at a healthy weight. Sophie has been good with other calm, friendly dogs. She is not an overly playful girl and would prefer canine companions that also enjoy a quiet lifestyle. She has been very good with cats and gentle with young children in her foster home. However, if the house is busy with playing toddlers, Sophie chooses to find a quiet spot to nap rather than joining in on the antics. She is an easy going girl with a low energy level. Sophie enjoys short daily walks and absolutely loves puttering around the yard supervising chores. Sophie is a very social lady that enjoys being with her people. If you're outside that is where she wants to be and if you're inside she will happily curl up at your feet, or better yet by the fire. She is house trained, non destructive, walks well on a leash and is good going for rides in the vehicle. Sophie will do best in a home with a securely fenced yard as she has spent most of her life wandering and doesn't understand that she should be accompanied by her humans if she wants to visit the neighbours. Sophie has her senior moments; she is stiff after a good sleep, gets a little shakey if she stays in one spot for too long, and is a bit of a picky eater but she is healthy and has a lot of love left to give and life left to experience. She is up to date on all of her vetting and ready to meet the family of her dreams. If you think you could be Sophie's special family apply today for a chance to meet her.
