FOR ADOPTION: CHEVY is an energetic, engaging young fellow looking for an active family. At roughly one year old and just under 80lbs Chevy is basically a puppy in a very large package. He loves all people and is very enthusiastic about meeting new friends. Chevy has an excellent bum wiggle and just adores scratches and hugs. He likes kids but could overwhelm young children that are not used to big dogs. Chevy falls into the medium-high energy level. This boy is going to needdaily exercise to be his very best self but he will happily relax after burning off his energy. If you're an avid jogger, cyclist, hiker, mountain biker etc Chevy would make an excellent adventure buddy. Chevy is also very enthusiastic when it comes to meeting new dogs and some can take his excitement as rudeness. For this reason Chevy will need an owner that is comfortable with facilitating calm, on leash introductions to new buddies. If the other dogs are willing to give Chevy a chance he is a friendly, respectful and playful companion. Cats and other small animals are a slightly different story for Chevy. He was abandoned at a remote logging camp in the fall of 2018 and did have to hunt for some of his meals when the loggers were out of camp or had no left overs. As a result, Chevy has a strong prey drive and will not do well in a home with cats or in a farm setting. He is on the dominant side personality wise, likely because he was forced to fend for himself, but is very responsive and willing to submit to a calm, confident handler. Chevy has quickly learned basic manners, to come when called, and to walk well using a halti. He is clean indoors with no separation anxiety tendencies and travels relatively well in the vehicle. Chevy is now neutered, vaccinated and up to date on parasite control. If you're looking for a buddy to share all of your adventures with apply today for a chance to meet CHEVY
