For ADOPTION: Spy. This sweet mature female is a testament to why animals should not be left to fend for themselves. Spy was trapped here on the shelter property after being around for a few months. She was first spotted in December, at the time it was thought that she belonged to one of the neighbours as they both have cats with black and white faces. In early March we were able to see enough of Spy to realize she was Calico not black and white and so a plan was made to catch her. Hungry as she was, it only took a day or so to get her comfortable with eating in the live trap and we were able to catch her and get her indoors. Spy is a resourceful girl and was able to keep herself adequately fed while fending for herself, strangely enough the "crows" have stopped breaking into kibble donations since Spy has been caught. She couldn't protect herself from the deep cold though, the tips of Spy's ears were badly frost bitten and painful so we had them amputated at Babine Animal Hospital for her comfort. We advertised her as found but no one came looking for her, likely because they knew exactly where she was.
Now that her ears have healed, she is ready to find her very special family. This quirky girl is estimated to be around 6 years old, she is spayed, vaccinated and up to date on parasite control. Spy loves people or all ages, including children and wants to be with you. She would be thrilled to find a family that spends a lot of time at home so that she can be actively involved in their lives. She is fun to have around and very affectionate. Spy will be looking for a home without other cats or dogs, she does not enjoy their company and has no intention of sharing her family. She seems to be quite happy indoor only but could also be indoor/outdoor in an area where she wouldn't be having to deal with neighbouring animals. Spy has personality plus and is ready to fill your heart and home with happiness. If you've been looking for your one and only, Spy could be your girl. Apply today for a chance to meet her!
